Cheesy Potato Soup

Cheesy Potato Soup

We are on a mini vacation here in Park City and the trees are starting to turn Orange and Red. It is a reality check that Fall is just around the corner.  It is really beautiful here this time of year.

The kids had a great time swimming, but it was cloudy and started to rain. There is a chill in the air and the Hoodies are starting to come out in the evening.
I have to say I am getting a little excited about the Fall this time around even though I know what follows it.

I love to bake when it is cold and I really love to make a good soup on a cold, rainy or snowy day. Served with some good bread.

I found this delicious recipe on Cuisine Recipes. Cheesy, creamy, chunks of potatoes and Bacon! This sounds like a really great recipe.

Banana Pudding Poke Cake

Pictures by The Country Cook

 Banana Pudding Poke Cake

Ohhhh this looks so delicious. I love the ingredients and can just taste how good it is. This is really super easy to make and only a handful of ingredients. My kids will love helping with the POKE part of the cake.

I have been doing really good with my Slim Fast drinks twice a day. I have lost 10 pounds and I eat what I want for dinner. I WILL be indulging in this fine dessert though and rewarding myself for good behavior. Woo Hoo! As my mother always says "Moderation in all things"..... I have never been quite good at that but I try.

I have to say that food tastes so much better when you are hungry.

I found this wonderful recipe on The Country Cook. Love her site and you will too. Check out her other POKE cakes.

This truly is my passion.

I love to find wonderful sites and recipes to share with you. I am SO grateful for creative minds that create and share them. I hope you enjoy them. I truly miss cooking as much as I did, but duty calls and it is my turn to work since my husband had his accident. I am very lucky to have found a good job and still be able to do this.

Thank you so much for all your support and nice comments on the recipes. It keeps me going and makes me very happy. Everyone should have a passion! If you don't have one, find one!

Quick and Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie

Quick and Cheesy Chicken Pot Pie

I love Chicken Pot Pies and I buy the frozen Marie Callendar's ones all the time. I have looked at lots of different recipes but there was lots of steps and they took quite a bit of time to make. I don't have the time!  I also would much rather have something that isn't out of the frozen foods section.

I ran across this recipe on Kitchen Simplicity and the QUICK part had me curious. PLUS, no canned ingredients. Simple ingredients that my kids will eat and quick to make.

Take a look at the comments on this recipe when you go to page, they are raving about how delicious it was and how easy it was to make.  That tells me a great deal when there are great comments on a recipe.

Hope you enjoy the recipe.

Baked Cheddar-Broccoli Rice Cups

Baked Cheddar-Broccoli Rice Cups

I mentioned yesterday that I was on the hunt for some good after school snacks. The Mozzarella Cheese Sticks are a great one that I posted yesterday. I am really excited about these Cheddar Broccoli Rice Cups I found today. Not only would I love to take these to work for lunch with a little Ranch Dressing to dip it in but I know the kids will gobble these down.

My kids have to take the bus and it takes them an hour to get home after school. I try to have something in their back pack they can eat when they are on the bus but having REAL food when they get home gets me lots of hugs. Now it will have to be my husband who gets the hugs. No fair. :(

These are just the right size and easy to eat. I found these on Daydream Kitchen. Very simple to make and all of these ingredients I already have at home.

Skinny Baked Mozzarella Sticks

Pictures by Skinny Taste

Skinny Baked Mozzarella Sticks

I have been looking for recipes that would be easy for my husband to make before the kids get home from school. It is amazing how hungry they are when they walk through that door. You would think they hadn't had anything to eat all day!

I love this recipe because it is super easy to make. I found this recipe
on Skinny Taste. She tried several different String Cheese before finding the one that worked the best. She has a great post that will show you step by step pictures on how to make this. This will be especially helpful to my husband :)

On the Skinny Side!

My addition would be to have the marinade as well as RANCH for dipping. The both together are sooo good. Homemade Hidden Valley Ranch is the only ranch I can eat. Not the ones in the bottle, the one is the package where you mix it with Milk and Mayo.

Mini Sausage and Cheese Muffin Bites

It's Muffin Time again!  I don't know how many of you got to see my MUFFIN MANIA post quite a long time ago but when I saw these awesome little Muffins I had to bring them back! I ran across these wonderful Muffins on Plain Chicken. I love that they are mini and simple. Nothing to fancy just really good.

I think these will taste wonderful and I know my kids are going to love them.   I think I will make these on the first day of school with some scrambled eggs.

Coffee and Strawberry Cream Cheese Cake

Coffee and Strawberry Cream Cheese Cake

Let's just take a moment here, look at the picture, I can honestly imagine how that is going to taste. This is one of those Cakes that you bring to a shower, to work or any special occasion that can make you the legendary person with "That Cake".

I can imagine making this and pulling out my darling china tea set and sitting and having special tea time with my young girls.  These are the little things my kids will remember. Doesn't it make you want to have a tea party? I wish it was still customary to do that. I feel like I should be sitting up straight and acting very proper with my chin tilted slightly up.

I found this masterpiece on Food Wanderings In Asia
Beautiful pictures, really captures the beauty of it.

I hope you enjoy these pictures and this recipe as much as I have. I might just create a new tradition with my girls with a recipe like this and my real tea set. Ta Ta!

Baked Penne with Chicken, Broccoli and Smoked Mozzarella

Baked Penne with Chicken, Broccoli and Smoke Mozzarella

I woke up this morning to a cool and dark morning. It is funny how Mother Nature eases you into each Season. I am grateful for that. If you have ever driven through Wyoming during a winter storm you will know why. I just love Fall, I just love it. It is slowly sneaking in, giving us little gentle reminders to get prepared. Amazing how are wonderful world works isn't it?

It was time for a good and easy pasta meal. I LOVE these ingredients and I would probably add a little more sauce and a little more cheese. Serve this is baguette bread with butter. Perfect. Pasta is always so good the next day for leftovers. My favorite thing to take to work the next day. It smells up the office and everyone wants to know what it is.

I found this picture and recipe at Mel's Kitchen Cafe. She has some WONDERFUL recipes and is a great photographer of her food.

Cheesy Baked Dip. Yum Yum and Yum

Cheesy Baked Dip

This morning my alarm didn't go off. I woke up late, was late for work, dropped my eye liner in the car into apparently the black hole because it was NO WHERE to be found, had no gas so I had to stop for gas. Ugh. Long day. Now I get to play on the blog. One of my favorite things to do.

I found this incredible recipe of Cheesy Baked Dip on Tried and Tasty this evening by accident. I was just doing some pinning on Pinterest and came across this oh so yummy picture. I should never search while I am hungry late in the evening because now I am starving. Although, sometimes that is the best way to find the greatest recipes.

Today is my second day of having Slim Fast for Breakfast and Lunch. Hasn't been to bad but now that I saw this I am really wishing I could dive into it. It has all the makings for a great dip. I am a big fan of dip, especially ones where you can eat the bowl.  Once again my favorite items of bacon and baked cheese and more!

Hope you are having a great week so far.
